NYC Adventure - Day 2

When we woke up Saturday morning, it was cold and drizzely. We were so surprised by how chilly it was!! We decided to do mostly indoor things since it was so overcast. We headed out to do the NBC Studio tour. On our walk over there, we discovered Radio City Music Hall.We also discovered how close everything seemed to be. Every time we turned around, we recognized a building or place we knew of. We even saw the Statue of Liberty. When we were finished with the pictures, the kids came running over to us. They were shocked that the Statue of Liberty was a BOY! When we got to NBC Studios, we discovered that evidentally everybody had the same idea we did in the cold, wet weather, and the tours were sold out until the next day. We went ahead and bought our tickets for the tour the next day, and while we were there, we had a little fun with our Friends. Then we walked out the door to Rockefeller Center.I am still in awe of how New York City is so big, but every time you turn around, you are somewhere you recognize.

Our next stop was, but on our way over there, JOey and I saw something that excited us. Once we got to FAO Schwarz, kids and parents alike found something to excite us!Go watch the kids play on the piano right here.

By this time we are starving; it was raining; and we needed something else indoors to do. We decided to go to Madame Tussuads. Since it was raining, my boys hailedus an infamous NYC taxi to Bubba Gump. The kids really enjoyed it, but we realized they had never seen the movie. While waiting on your meal, they ask trivia questions about the movie, and they didn't know them. We, of course, bought the movie in the gift store. I think Blaine's favorite part was the Run Forrest Run and Stop Forrest STop signs. When you needed your waitress you flipped from Run Forrest Runto Stop Forrest Stop. A total hit with the kids. I think it was flipped about four times during our meal.

Then we were off to see the famous in wax.I was shocked by how much the kids enjoyed it! I mean they really enjoyed it. There was even a Happy Feet 4D show that was really neat. It was four floors of wax figures, and, of course, Derek was on the last floor. When we reached the Happy Feet show, Blaine thought it was over, and he was SO upset Derek wasn't there. He was so glad he found him!Kylee shocked me with her interest in the taxis. She really wanted thispicture and even waited in a line to get it! Any pictures that had props there, they were all over it!

After Madame's we started walking down Broadway in Times Square toward our hotel, and decided to go in yet another toy store. Toys R Us. Only this one was in Times Square and had an indoor ferris wheel, which, of course, they had to ride.On our way out of the store, Blaine spotted Spiderman and Iron Man(that's Iron Man, right? hehe) They were taking these kids in and taking pictures, free to try, ya know. Blaine died for this picture. I told him we weren't buying it. It was $25 for ONE picture! So he pulled his grandparent card. Dad Dad and Mom Mom had given them $20 to spend however they saw fit, with no questions from the parents. Now the picture was only $5. So there you have it.

It was time for bed! We had done so much walking and so much exploring, we were wiped! The kids were so tired of walking, we decided to order room service and watch our Forrest Gump movie. We got two grilled cheese sandwiches, a kiddie burger, and a salad for $100. Joey said it was worth not having to walk another foot or listen to whining about walking another foot. The walking was just beginning!
