Father's Day Weekend

It was a big week for us! Terry was closed last week, and Mom Mom and Dad Dad were out of town...well, at least for part of the week. Thank GOD! my judge wasn't in the office, so I was a little more free to come and go. Sunday night the kids spent the night with Nana and Papa and then spent all day Monday with Nana. Tuesday, they went to work with me. Wednesday, I took the day off to take them to the dentist, and Thursday Mom Mom was home.

Every year when Terry is closed, we go stay at the hotel by the airport with the "big slide". This was our week for that, too.

Since it was Father's Day weekend, we invited Nana and Papa to come along to celebrate. They couldn't spend the night with us, but they did join us Saturday for some fun.

On Sunday, we took Joey and Dan to Butterfield Trail Golf Course for their Father's Day gift. We went and had brunch and played a round of golf. It was so much fun.

Then we went back to Dad Dad and Mom Mom's for a dip in the pool and pizza. It was a great day!

KYLEE RIDES A BIKE!!!

We've been TRYING to this child to ride a bike since she was like six. NO INTEREST, CHANGE THE SUBJECT, GIVE UP PRIVILEDGES TO NOT HAVE TO DO IT. Crazy. Very crazy. Blaine got a bike without training wheels about a month ago, and today Kylee asked if she could learn to ride on that. In about 20 minutes, this is what we got.

P.S. I have been told (by the bike rider herself) to say that Kylee HAS ridden a bike before, just not with out training wheels.

Sweet Sister

I took the day off to take the kids to get their teeth cleaned today. We also went shopping for Father's Day. Kylee had a Target gift card she wanted to use, so we spent HOURS there. She FINALLY decided on a little ceramic kit with two dogs and two cats. She graciously told Blaine she would share with him so he could paint, too, after his nap. Sweet sister...sweet daughter!

Rated PG-13

It was a long, fun weekend with lots of Blaine and Kylee-isms!

The kids were so sweet Saturday morning and let Joey and I sleep "late"....until 8. Kylee even "made Blaine breakfast". They had Pop-Tarts.

Then Blaine wanted to draw on the sidewalk with his chalk, so he asked Diddy to go with him. She, of course, had to top him, so she went upstairs and got the sidewalk PAINT the Dawn bought them. Joey HATES the sidewalk painted, and they really doosied (is that a word?) it up! Thank God we're not all about anonymity (I know that's a word, just glad I get to type it and not say it!).

Then Kylee headed for her dance company try-outs, which, of course, she made. After we dropped her off, Blaine was upset with me because I told him he needed to take a nap before Jack's birthday party. He yelled at me, and, of course, got in trouble. So he says to me, "That's it! I'm moving to another house if you can't be nice to me!" I asked him where he was moving to, and he told me Gus' house. (the neighbor who has three teenage boys who treat Blaine like one of them.) I just dropped it. Later, after we got to Jack's party and he wanted something from me, he came and crawled in my lap and told me he was "tricking" me and that he wasn't leaving because he loved me so "good". Then he asked for money. Of course!

As we leave Target with the present, I notice the tag on the gift bag is missing. So I say, "The stupid tag is missing!" And Joey says, "Shit!" (Yes, it's that word again!!!) Anyway, Kylee says, "Y'all's life is rated PG-13..seriously!"

We went to the birthday party, had great fun and stayed after the party to bowl with the Hayes. We also were talked into buying Miley Cyrus tickets in Phoenix in September, so we're off to do that in the fall! Lord help us!

The birthday boy!

Uncle Kyle and Aunt Myra visit!

We had a big weekend this weekend. Kyle, Myra, Kellie, and McKenzie came to visit. Michael was at the boat races in Oklahoma.

We started Saturday morning at Blaine's t-ball playoffs. It's double elimination, and we lost. Soo...we HAVE to win Wednesday night.

After the game, we headed off to the mall to get McKenzie's ears pierced. When she walked in the door Friday night, the first thing she told me was, "I want you to get my ears pierced!" See, Kyle took Kylee to pierce hers; I took Kellie; so now it was McKenzie's turn. She was so excited. She had NO idea it was going to hurt.

ONE DONE

BOTH DONE

Don't worry! She got over it, and she loves them. That night (after much objection from her Daddy, she keeps asking me if she can call me Tia. Of course, I don't care WHAT she calls me, as long as she calls me. Anyway....) she said, "Tia, thanks for getting shots in my ears." haha!

After the mall, we ate at Fuddruckers, and then Kylee and I had to rush off to her awards for dance this year. She got Best Showmanship and Best Smile.

The rest of the day was spent at the house, either in the pool or playing Wii. The videos and pictures below sum it up pretty well.

Dad Dad and Mom Mom

Sunday we went to see UP in 3D...great movie! And then Kellie wanted to go eat at Fee's (Furr's). Evidentally she had been RAVING about it since the last time Dad Dad and Mom Mom took her. Those girls ate and ate. They ate their meal, then dessert, then mashed potatoes, then more dessert.

Then we headed BACK to the pool before they had to head back home. Joey was flipping Blaine the way Kyle had flipped the girls. Kylee told me Blaine did a belly "slop". Kylee decided to stand on Joey's shoulders and do a back flipped, and she flipped her head right into his head, which effectively ended the swimming for the day and the weekend. Everybody was EXHAUSTED last night. It was a fun weekend!

P.S. For those of you looking at this from an email, I think you have to go to my actual blog to see the videos.

FOUND THE TEXT!!!!

Memorial Day....eeeh..... Week

I think May may be busier around our house than December!! Seriously! (Kylee's new word that is rubbing off on me.) The worse part about it is Blaine's not even in school yet. I can't even IMAGINE next May! Anyway, because of the craziness of it all, this will probably be a very loaded and random post.

Kylee's last day of school was the Thursday before the Memorial Day weekend. The day before that she went on a field trip to the Student Activities Center for the school district. It's basically just an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with slides and play areas.

Kylee went last year, and I never gave it a second thought. Mom Mom was very nervous about it, but not me. This year when she brought the permission slip home, I signed it and sent it back, again, without a second thought. The Friday before she was a supposed to go, a 14-year old here in town drown on a school field trip to Wet & Wild. Okay. Now I'm freaked! So I got home and ask her, "Kylee, what happens if your parents don't let you go to the SAC center?" She said, "You either stay at home or stay at school with a substitute." I said, "Are you sure you don't want to miss school that day and just stay with me?" She, of course, was appalled. "Mom, I'll be fine! I can swim, seriously!" I just kind of dropped it.
The night before, I asked her again, promising her fun activities. Again, I was "seriously" overreacting. So in a last ditch effort the morning OF the field trip AS I drop her off at school, I say, "Kylee, I'll take you wherever you want for lunch! After work, we'll go get our piggies done!" "MOM, STOP! SERIOUSLY!!! I'LL BE FINE. YOU ARE TURNING INTO MOM MOM, SERIOUSLY!!"
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all.
She went, had a great time, and was safe.

The next day, she was out of school, and now she is a 5th grader. SICK!!! Even more sick, my BABY will start kindergarten this year!! *TEARS* Blaine keeps telling EVERYBODY that when Diddy goes back to school, he's going with her! He's SSOO excited.

For Memorial Day weekend, Dad Dad's friend needed to borrow his truck, so he would lend him his car for the weekend. Turns out, he can borrow Dad Dad's truck whenever he wants, and the whole family concurs. I'm sitting at work on Friday (the day after Kylee gets out of so she went to spend the day with Dad Dad, OF COURSE) and I get a text message (that now nobody has because everybody got new phones...ugh!) of she and Dad Dad IN the car cruising all morning.
Before the weekend was out, everbody got a ride....yes, even me, but I'm the picture-taker, remember?

That weekend was also Kylee's dance recital. You have to be there early to get a good seat, so Joey and I dropped Blaine off with Dad Dad and Mom Mom and went early. They don't open the doors until 30 minutes before show time, but you have to be there an hour or an hour and a half before to get a decent seat, so we had to wait outside. We get in line, and the rain starts COMING DOWN!!! I wish somebody had taken a picture of us pressed up against the wall of the building, me in Joey's lap, umbrella over us, playing Yahtzee. I'm sure it was comical. We aren't allowed to video or photograph the recital, as they sell DVDs and pictures, but here are some I got when it was over. I'll post all her different outfits as the pictures come in.

I had jury duty last week, and Blaine asked me if I could pick him up from Terry's early after my "judgey" duty. And here's a picture of him playing in the garage, just because there are so many of Kylee in this post.
