Snow Fun

New Year's Eve Eve, I sent Joey out for some bread. After he left, he called Kylee and told her to look outside. Thisis
what we found. The kids were SO excited. Joey, not so much. He and his dad were headed to the Snow Sun Bowl the next day.
So while they headed out to the football game, the kids played. After it got too cold, I let them come in and skate...in the house. THey also did makeovers on each other, including a wig on Blaine.Snow days are snow fun!

I Want a Hippopatomus Hunting Gear for Christmas

The day after Christmas, as usual, we loaded up and headed to Midland. I told them we would be there by noon, but I guess they didn't believe me. So when we got there, lunch wasn't to be ready until two. While waiting, we laughed at the dancing hat and roped. After lunch, the chaos began. McKenzie had REALLY wanted an iPod touch, but DD had told her she was too young. Maybe she would get a four-year old iPod. Kellie opened an iPod touch, and McKenzie's face was not that of Christmas spirit. She was UNhappy! Then she opened hersand was ssoo excited! It was NOT a four-year old iPod. There was lots of hunting gear, because, you know, we might be rednecks, and because after Christmas my boys and Pops set off to do some hunting and were successful.

Before the hunters left, though, we did a mini photoshoot with the cousins.Pretty good for amatuers, don't ya think?

After the hunters left and Kyle and his family went home, it was just Kylee, Dawn and I. I was a little worried she would be lonesome or bored. She wasn't lonesome with Hazel around, though, and decided she needed her own little photo shoot.
We and the hunters had a great time and an amazing Christmas with Pops and DD. Thanks, y'all!!

Blue Christmas

Christmas afternoon belonged to Papa and Nana. After some horse boy playingwith Blaine's laser tag guns, we got down to what turned out to be a Blue, Blue Christmas...Yankee Blue that is!Blaine got a Yankee beach towel, which quickly has become his Yankee bath towel. We got Papa and Nana Yankee bed sheetsbecause at Papa's birthday we watched Fever Pitch, and this guy is a die-hard Red Sox fan. His WHOLE house was Red Sox decor. Nana made the comment how silly it was, and Papa made a comment defending him. We just thought it would be funny, and it was, to get them Yankee bed sheets. They laughed, too. Phew!

After presents, the girls got our dinner readyand then we roasted smores in the fire.It was a nice, relaxed and blue Christmas afternoon.

Santa Clause Has Come to Town

Blaine woke up Christmas morning yelling. After going to Diddy's room with no response, he came to get the parentals. I told him to let us get some socks and warm clothing on and we'd be right there. He just kept yelling, "Santa came. Hurry! Santa came!" I said, "Go get your sister." He said, "I already did. She won't come!" Ah, that girl is a morning sunshine. Because she wouldn't get up, he ran in and said, "Santa brought you your twins. There! Now GET UP!!" With some hesitation, she did.

After checking out Santa's loot
, they moved on to presents from Mom and Dad
and stockings.
See what was in mine?!Santa left me diamonds! He even left something for the furry family!

Thanks, Santa!

Christmas Eve Gift

Christmas Eve we continued our annual tradition of letting the kids open presents from each other, and we open our gifts from the kids. Then we headed off to Joey's cousin's (Angel and Carrie) house for a Christmas Eve get-together before heading for home to wait for Santa.

On the 12th Day of Christmas...

...my true love gave to me12 red roses.

On Christmas Eve, it was the 12th and last gift for the kids to drop of at Terry's. Blaine's favorite part of the whole deal, knock-knock-ditching, had come to an end. (The side story to that is in the beginning, he said, "It is SO cool that we get to knock-knock-ditch for TWELVE days!!) Instead of running away, the 12th day, the kids stayedto reveal themselves.

On the 10th day as we dropped off the gift, there was one already on the porch. The kids came running back to tell us. THey were CONVINCED it was for them. I told them unless there was a card with it, they needed to leave it. It was on a stool, and they argued with me, saying it was on a stool and it had to be for them. Turns out, they were right.

When we went in, all of our presents were lined upin Terry's bay window. She said the kids, the parents, and her boys were always so excited to see what she got. She also said she figured out who we were the SECOND night!! I said, Did Kylee's handwriting give you away? She said she actually didn't know the handwriting. She said she just knew it was Kylee and Blaine and that we were the only people she knew who would do something like that.
We had SUCH a good time doing it, and I think she enjoyed it, too. The kids already have next year all planned out!
