An Old Fashioned Party

Blaine's baseball buddy, Alex, had his birthday party yesterday. It was an old-fashioned kinda party and so, so fun!

They had burlap sack (kinda) races,three-legged races,a sponge-throwing contest
and a wheelbarrow race.(By this time, Blaine had already made his way back to the jumping balloon.)

Even though they were soaking wet and miserably cold and it's playoff season and all of our players will probably be sick, they had a great time!

That Amazing Tooth Fairy

Blaine's front tooth finally fell out...well, it was knocked out by his knee coming down the slide, but whatever works, right? I, for one, was sick of looking at it dangling out of his mouth but not being allowed to touch it,though I will admit it's a little weird now looking at that gaping hole.

With the time change yesterday, we were all sleepy before bedtime, and everybody but Joey fell asleep in random places. This morning about 5, Blaine comes running into my room bawling because he forgot to put his tooth under his pillow for the tooth fairy, and she didn't come. I told him we would go get it right then and maybe if he went back to sleep, she would still come, and if she didn't, we would try again tonight. The next time I saw him, thisis what he looked like. She came!!

The Heart of a Champion

As we were driving home after trick or treating, Blaine was doing his best to stay awake. Joey was telling me about the manager from the Cardinals retiring. Kylee said, "Why would he do that?! They just won the World Series!" Blaine from the back in his sleepy little voice said, "That's what I'd do; go out a champion!"

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treating was at the Estradas this year. Since Blaine didn't get to dress up for school yesterday, we came home, got him dressed, went and got flautas from El Parque, and went over.

And trick or treated
Mat is SO good to my kids.I'm not sure who loves him more, them or me! He such a great teenager to be around them, and he LOVES them right back. It's a great combo, and we are blessed to have him! (and his parents, too!)

Until next year...Happy Halloween!

Punkin Carvin 2011

Again this year the kids picked designs for their Daddy to carve in their pumpkins. After pulling out all the punkin guts,Daddy got to work and knocked it out of the park.

I don't think I need to explain who decided on which pumpkin!
