It was their first funeral and their first Catholic mass. Uncle Henry (Joey's uncle Walker. The kids call him Uncle Henry because he's always calling them Katy or Kathy or Billy or Bob) is just a big kid himself. He leaned over to Blaine in the middle of communion at the service and said, "So, how do you think it's going so far?" Blaine said, "So so. It's a little weird, and I don't like Papa to cry." He rode in Uncle Henry's limousine, too.
After the funeral, we headed to Aunt Steph and Uncle Henry's house for lunch. The kids and Uncle Henry went turtle hunting in the backyard. The rest of us were visiting in the house. When Uncle Henry came back in the house, I asked what they were doing. He said, "Oh, they've stripped to their underwear to take a dip in the pool." We all laughed. I walked outside. He wasn't kidding.

It was a sad day, but the kids loved hanging out with Uncle Henry, Aunt Steph, Walker, Nana, Papa, and, of course, Aunt Jackie. We will have to do it again soon on a happier day!
