Oh Christmas Tree!

We went for our annual Tree Cutting weekend in Cloudcroft on Sunday. The snow was UNBELIEVABLE. When we left, these jeans Kylee is wearing could literally stand up on their own like they were starched because they were frozen solid!

There was so much snow that when we started back into the woods to get our tree, the guys decided we shouldn't go so far back this year. So we parked and started walking. Then we remembered that not so far back was a little place to park and turn around, and if we went there, it wouldn't be so far for the guys to carry the tree after we cut it. So we all continued to walk (and have snowball fights..if you look real closely, you can see Joey's snowball headed for Blaine) while Papa went to get his truck. We took quite a hike, too! When we FINALLY reached Papa, bless his heart, he was stuck! They guys worked for a REALLY long time to get unstuck, too! There was a nice couple who came by to help us get unstuck. Then we would get unstuck and stuck again. Soo...we headed back up to the front of the woods, with them following us, and stayed there. By the time the boys were done, they were so tired. We quickly found the perfect tree, and the kids and Papa cut it down. We carried it back to the truck to smoke for our annual cigar!

Then we headed to town to eat. Last year we had this waitress that Blaine fell in LOVE with. He watched her and talked to her. It was so cute! He kept asking her if he could go home with her. He was so bold with her, too....until she came over and kissed him. Then he turned 150 shades of red! So funny! Well, this year as we are walking into the cafe, guess who was walking out? Yup, you got it! And the best part...she noticed him right away! She said, "Oh my gosh, it's my cutie boy from last year!!!" We were floored that she remembered him, but she did....and so did he!
Super cute!

Then, of course, the kids went to play on the playground while Nana and I shopped for a while. When we got back to the playground, Joey and Kylee have turned a shovel into a makeshift sled!

But Blaine was nowhere to be found. I saw Papa sitting in the truck, so I went over and opened his door to ask where Blaine was. Look what I found!
That poor baby was so cold, he was sitting on the floorboard as close to the heater as he could get! Between is soaking wet and cold jeans to Kylee's frozen solid ones, we stripped them down to their chonies, wrapped blankets and around them and headed home.
I guess next year I'll have to invest in ski pants. Whatcha think?
