He's baaack

Wednesday morning Blaine was released from the prison sentence the doctors called a broken collar bone. Hip Hip Hooray!! (Or Hip Hip Jorge, as it's said around this Yankee home) That night he and Joey and Kylee joined Carlo and his boys at the park to play, and play they did. First day back in it, and Blaine comes home with a bloody elbow. But he LOVED it...and he slept all night, which he had stopped doing.

He's been NONSTOP ever since. I know it's because he's had NOwhere to release his energy. He was getting in more trouble at school and home. He would go to bed at the normal time, but be up at 3 or 4 in the morning ready for the day to start. He just wasn't getting tired enough. That problem is solved.

Saturday morning, he was up at 6:30, whispering in my ear, "Mommy, get up. It's my first game today. Be excited!" He and I got up, had our Saturday morning coffee, and got excited. Joey got up, got him dressed, and took him for warm-up, while I ran to Dad Dad and Mom Mom's, where Kylee spent the night, to take her some clothes.

Joey called. The other team had forfeited. There would be no game for Blaine that day.

He handled it well. Joey decided to have practice instead, so the boys headed to the park. They were there from 10 to 2. I went out to check on them and ended up playing too. It was fun.

Last night, though, he finally got to play in a game. It was against the Gators, the team we beat last year for the championship, so it was extra sweet for him. He was a-ma-zing, that boy! He played like he hadn't been gone..for the most part. He was a little nervous at first, but then he got into the swing of things.

Then he got spiked (where a kid slides into the base, and his cleats went into Blaine's leg), and I freaked, almost puked. But other than a big bruise on his leg, he's fine. It took him a few minutes, but he sucked it up and kept playing. He got several outs, including a double play on a fly ball. He's back in it!

Play ball!

I GOT THIS!

Call the press! This is one for the record books, really. Myra and I went to Stanton Trade Days for a little shopping (NO! That's not for the record books. Be patient, now, it's coming) while Kyle kept the kids, all four of them! (There it is!) Oh, yes, he did!

The kids and I headed to Pecos Friday night for the weekend. Joey had to work. Saturday morning, Myra and I got up early and headed to Stanton. McKenzie and Blaine were awake, but the "big girls" were sleeping in. Kyle had VOLUNTEERED to keep them all. As we were heading out the door, Kyle said, "Can Blaine bowl?" (He has a broken collar bone, remember.) I said, "Um..no!" Kyle said, "What about the water slide?" Again, "Um...no!" "Can I take them to the ranch?" My response was, "No. He can't be bounced around on those roads." McKenzie, in all her four-year-old wisdom said, "Daddy, let's just wait and talk about this when Aunt Steph leaves!" Hardy har har! Myra and I laughed...and left.

After we had been in Stanton a couple of hours, Kyle texted us and told us he was taking them to Odessa to the movies. I texted him back and told him I didn't care if he did that, but he didn't need to do that, that they were just fine playing and entertaining themselves. Before he answered me, Myra called him and told him basically the same thing. He was none too happy. He said, "I got this! I know I don't have to! Do you want me to babysit or not? I got this!" I told Myra, "We probably shouldn't call him back. We should probably just leave him alone."

So we did. We shopped; they saw. When we were finished shopping, we met them in Odessa. After a carousel ride
, some video game playing, and Kylee's first experience with two shop- lifting teenagers who got busted in Claire's, we headed back to Pecos.

As Kylee and I were headed out of El Paso to Pecos, I realized I had forgotten my camera. I debated and debated with myself about it, and finally I couldn't stand it. I went back and got it. Then, I never used it. Genius that I am. So you'll have to excuse the pictures.

Sunday the kids and I came home. I had Monday off, so we hung around the house...and made zombie faces with powder.
And Mom laughed, because, after all, you're only a kid once!

Fall, My fave!

I LOVE fall! It's my VERY favorite! I love pumpkin spice lattes and the mixture of cool air and warm air that is perfect for wearing hoodies (my next purchase) with flippies. I love the colors(this is from last year) and smells. I love the excitement of wearing a new Halloween costumearound the house anticipating the big day! I love going to get fall pedis with my girl, and my favorite is: when she HATES the design on her toe and wants them to change it to be like mine but wants ME to tell them, so I do, I LOVE that she sends me thistext sitting in the chair right beside me!

So bring on Fall! I LOVE IT!

Dear God

Thank you for this day. Thank you for Mommy and Daddy and Diddy. Thank you for God and Jesus and the Bible.

This is how Blaine's prayer starts every night. Sometimes that's all we get. Most of the time it's not. He thanks Him for everything he can think of that has happened that day. Sometimes it's, Thank you for tball, or, Thank you for the people we love and don't love. (yes, he says and don't love)

Tonight I know he's been listening in class. Because tonight he said, "And thank you for Martha. You know, God, Martha that married George Washington."
