So Much Blogging, So Little Time

I have so much to blog about, and so little time to do it!

Like after Joey's surgery, he was taking a bath. It shocked Blaine. He said, Mommy, is Daddy taking a bath? When I told him he was, he said, Does he know how to wash himself?

Or when Kylee called me to tell me it was her band director's birthday and wanted me to "get something really fast." When I told her I was at work and wouldn't be getting anything, she said, Just order something and have it delivered. Please, Mom! I told her if she were paying for it, I would order something because the cheapest thing I could have delivered would be like $50 bucks. No reply. Not with her money!

Or when we were all watching The Voice, and Blaine told us that, That Christina Aguilera is a stingy skunk bag!

Like when Kylee and I had a big fat fight because I bought a rug for our living room with the new sectional (more to come on that, too!). She was SSOO mad at me...over a rug!! Actually, I don't think she was actually mad at me over the rug she hated so as much as she was that I told her I didn't care if she liked it.

Or when Blaine came to get in our bed after we were up and showering but was so tired that when I went back in our room, this is how I found him.

Like when we were buying our new couch, Kylee was so excited. But then when we cleaned out the living room for it's arrival, she decided she just wanted that room to be her own personal dance studio.

And like when I reminded her just to use the house however she sees fit; her brother does!

(Okay, maybe I didn't say that!)

Or just how much I adore my kids...like you didn't already know that. But even though I HATE the dress, I love that Kylee has her own style and doesn't care what I, or anybody else thinks about it, but mostly her mother.

Or how it thrills me that a four dollar pair of sunglasses from Walgreens can turn Blaine into a rock star.

And I don't care how busy I am or how little time there is, when I go to pick them up and they fight over loving me first, now that, my friends, is something to write home blog about!

Still to come...new 'additions' to our home, Kylee's one act play, Blaine's last basketball game and first baseball game of the season, and I'm sure they will say or do something before I even get those posts done that'll make me be back.

Border Chorder Valentine

Since Daddy is in L.A. at a farmer's expo, the kids and I spent Valentine's Day with Dad Dad and Mom Mom. When I got home from work, there was a chest chess game going and lots of grading papers. When the chess game was over, Blaine even got in on grading papers.

I had set up a little surprise. Nobody knew but me. The doorbell rang, and the Border Chorders came in for a little Valentine's seranade.

The kids were so funny! Right after this picture was taken, Kylee put Mom Mom's hand on Dad Dad's chest and then backed away.

When she dropped her hand down, Blaine went up and put it back. All in the name of love.
Until next Love Day....

Daddy's Valentine

Mommy's Valentine

Kylee has a true St. Valentine's heart. This year she got all three of us a present from her, without any of us knowing about it. If you look at Blaine's picture, the white box is from his Didi (which, in a side not, I have been informed recently that I have been spelling that wrong since the poor boy could speak. It is not Diddy. It is Didi). He always wants her Pictionary Man game that she has, so for Valentine's Day, she wrapped it up and gave it to him. For her Daddy, she bought from the kids selling stuff at school a heart with two little monkeys hugging. (in her pictures) He calls her Monkey. How appropriate they both got each other monkeys. For me, she made me a paper rose bouquet, which she put in a vase with a note.

Valentine's day is my least favorite holiday. In fact, I think it's a Hallmark/flower shop fabricated holiday to bring in profits. But that girl, she puts me in the spirit!

School Valentine's

The kids valentines this year were Hershey bars covered with their personal greetings.

Okay, okay. They are 'Great Value' chocolate bars. I'm a cheap, horrible mother. Y'all, Hersey bars, even Great Value bars are expensive! They probably jack up the prices on them, like they do strawberries, chocolate, and flowers, just for Valentine's Day! I have to tell you, though, I bet not one kid they gave these to cared that they weren't Hershey's. Well, maybe the middle schoolers did. Oh, well.

For their Valentine's party treats, I made Monkey Munch Cupid's Crunch and added some color with peanut M&M's. Then we put them in snack-sized ziplocs for the kids and plastic jars for their teachers.

A Hint of What's To Come...

We Now Return to our Regularly Scheduled Blogging

I'm going to completely ignore that it is the day after Valentine's Day, of which I have not blogged about, and go right back to the weekend before Valentine's Day. You know, like the first weekend in February. I'm also going to blame this late posting on my mother. You know, like I'm a teenager. Because I was waiting on some pictures we took on her camera the first weekend of February.

Doak and his family came to visit that first weekend in February. Andrea was going to run in a marathon, but her siatic nerve is giving her problems. The doc said no more running until the end of March, but they came anyway. Since Courtney is living with them now, she came too (yay!), and they stopped in Pecos and brought Harrison, too.

It was a relaxing weekend! We went and watched Blaine's basketball game.

We girls went shopping and acted silly.
There were LOTS of iPads!
Hugs
Kisses
And the obligatory family pic
Kylee even made belated cupcakes, Tommy, of course, for a certain two-year old.
He was pretty excited!

Like I said, it was a laid back, relaxing weekend, but so enjoyable!

Because I Laughed...A LOT

Remember MY Daddy's surgery in August when I posted this?

Well, when Joey had his surgery Wednesday, I sent Daddy a text that said, "Since we did it to you..." with Joey's surgery picture.

His response: I looked better. He just looks fat.

Daddy Does Surgery

Two weeks ago my 5th grader husband hurt his thumb playing softball. He was going to catch a ball, running foward at full force, lost his balance, fell right on said right thumb, and bent it all the way back to his arm.

After a doctor visit with x-rays, he was so happy to find out it wasn't broken. After an MRI, though, he was not thrilled to discover he had to have surgery to fix his really messed up ligaments. His biggest concern?

Not being able to be a 5th grader!

So Wednesday afternoon, we headed to the surgery center, got him suited up and shaved, and sent him back to the OR.

Joey has an iron stomach. I'm so jealous. After anesthesia, I always throw up. Joey throws down! He came out of anesthesia, and he was mad! He was saying things like, "I just want to get the hell out of here!" He said things to the nurse that were just so unlike him. He was mad.

He was also in a lot of pain. When he started asking for whiskey with his hydrocodone, I knew he was going to be just fine.

That night when we went to say our prayers, I think Remington knew there was something a little off with Daddy, so he knelt to pray with him.
