If I Could Turn Back Time...

If I could find a way....I'd bring back that LITTLE girl! She doesn't have to be a baby. She can still be a girly girl, grown up enough to wear pantyhose. Like thisone! She can still sunbathe like the big girls, but like thisone! She can even still be a dancer, like thisone! I just don't want this tween dancer, who is growing up so fast and who tried out for the SENIOR dance company and got thisfeedback from the judges. I'm not complaining that they think my girl is great! I KNOW she's great!! But you see that Y that is circled at the top of the page? You know what that means? That means Yes. My BABY is in the SENIOR jazz company!!

One day last week, after I had been sick for a few days, she tells me on our way out the door, "Mom, I'm not taking my instrument to school today." She only has band every other day, so I thought nothing of her statement. I did say, "Will you get in trouble?" She said, "Well, no." Okay. Moving on. No big deal. When I got out of court that afternoon, there was a message on phone. "Mom, don't worry about this message. They are making me call you because I didn't bring Taleah (her trumpet). They want to see if somebody can bring it to me. Please don't call Dad Dad or anything to bring it to me. I don't feel like blowing today. Just ignore this message. Love ya! Bye."

Since when is she old enough to make these decisions?

If I could turn back time...she would NOT be this big!

Darkest Before Dawn

Kylee got all new bedding from Pops and Dawn for Christmas and has been DYING to get it up. She's always been wanting her bunk beds OUT of her room. Last weekend, we finally got the bunk beds out. Since we were waiting for Mr. Garcia to come get them for his kiddos, we didn't have time to get anything else done last weekend. When he picked them up, he gave her money (that her parents wouldn't take) to do something for her room.

Tuesday morning a girl Kylee knows from dance was killed in an awful car crash. They told the girls it was Jennifer who was killed that night at dance. I'm so proud of her for handling it the way she did. She was a little weirded out, since she had just seen her the night before. She just kept saying, "Mom, I just feel like I should DO something." I was very worried about her, but she took it in stride. It was her first experience with a young person dying.

So this weekend, we spent ALL weekend on her room. The bunk beds were gone, so after two bags of trash, a bag to go to the Rescue Mission, two bags to go the consignment store, and another two bags to Mr. Garcia's kid, we went and got her a nightstand and a desk with Mr. Garcia's money. Daddy put those together for her, and we went to Kirkland's for a desk chair. She now LOVES her room.

I think she feels grown up in there now and not like a little kid.

Thanks, Pops and Dawn for the new bedding, and thanks, Mr. Garcia, for the money for her desk and nightstand!

Grades and Resolutions

Kylee's report card

Blaine's report card

You can click on these to make them bigger. The first column is the first nine weeks grades. The second column is the second nine weeks grades, and the third column is the semester grade.

This last paper is one that was sent home in Blaine's backpack today.I had him read it to me. It says:
Blaine Onick
January 3, 2011
My new year's resolution is to be better at telling the truth so I won't get a spanking. (the next litte ca thingy should have been erased) I do get (forgot to write something there) but what I all was new. My dad loves me and my mom, too. I love them, too. They give love and kisses. I like when they do it. Later they do that. My dad asks, Do you want to play catch? (Then on the back that I didn't scan, it says) I like it.

The Mad Rabbit

I think Blaine may have a sinus infection or something. He's got a nasty nose and a hoarse voice. And this morning, he was in a very bad mood. My boy doesn't get in a bad mood. He gets weepy if he's hungry or tired, but he doesn't usually get in a bad mood. He was in such a bad mood this morning, he covered his faceso we wouldn't look at him or talk to him.
He wore it into school. I'm waiting for the nurse to call.

Jamnuary Packed

January is already jam packed, and it's just the first week!

We started the new year at home, asleep before midnight. New Years Day we spent with the Estradas and the Hayes at the Hayes' house. I made these cake ballsand put them in a big wine glass for Lisa's birthday. They were red velvet cake, and were really good.

The kids started back to school Monday. Since I didn't have to go back to work until Wednesday, I agreed to pick the kids up from school and take them to Roller Bomb to skate for a while. Only, it is closed Monday and Tuesday. When we drove away, Blaine said, "Mommy, I wished you worked at Roller Bomb. Then we could go whenever we want." Kylee said, "Blaine, only YOUNG people work at Roller Bomb. No offense, Mom!" Umm..ok.

Lately our house has been a little gassy, and our kids have made it a prominent topic of conversation. I hope it's a phase. THe talking about it; I realize gas is not a phase. Tuesday night prayers went a little like this.
BLaine: Dear God, please help my sister not be so gassy.
Kylee: Dear God, please tell Blaine everybody is gassy.
Joey: NO MORE prayers about being gassy!!
I couldn't even pray. The kids kept telling Joey I was about the throw up. He knew I wasn't. He knew I was just laughing and trying to hide it. So he just put them to bed.

A little over a year ago, Blaine had to have some blood drawn. They had a soldier teddy bear for him to hold on to while they took his blood. He's been looking for one ever since. Wednesday night we went to pick up Dad Dad and Mom Mom at the airport, and he found him. He spent ALL his Christmas money on him, too. He's in love. This soldier bear even sings, "I'm proud to be an American."

Satruday was another day spent at Roller Bomb. Colton and Shelley joined us, though. Kylee and Colton planned it, and we just went along with it. (I guess the disco lights make the pictures blurry)
They even got Shelley and I in skates. We had a great time. After skating, we had dinner at Macaroni Grill. I guess next time it's our turn to go to Las Cruces.

Inside In

After Blaine was told to put his pajamas on last night, he came and told me, "Mommy, my pajamas are inside out. Can you turn them inside in?"
